1962           Born in Wiesbaden, Germany

 

Since 1972  Classical Piano Studies

 

Since 1985  Professional Jazz Pianist, member of the National Youth Jazz

                    Orchestra.  First Radio and TV performances 

 

1989            Finalist of the "Concours Interntaional Piano Jazz Martial Solal",

                    in Paris

 

1990-93       Work with the Bill Saxton Quartet. Recordings and concerts all

                    over Europe. South America tour with Daniel Guggenheim,

                    concerts and recording with Hermeto Pascoal in Brazil.

                    Prize of the German critics award for the first own album

                    "Christof Sänger Trio - Chorinho".

                    Nomination for the SWF Radio Jazz Award.

 

1994-95       Concerts in Blovia and Venezuela.

                    Member of the Richie Cole Quartet.

                    2nd recording as a leader 'Caprice' and regular work with own

                    trio, for example at the Jazz Festival Zagreb, Croatia.

                    Concerts and recordings with Allan Praskin, Tony Lakatos,

                    Keith Copeland, Peter Fessler, Peter Wniger, a.o.

 

1996-97       Club gigs in New York and recording of the CD "Imagination"

                    with Al Foster and George Mraz.

                    Solo Concert at the Montreal Jazz Festival (Live recording by 

                    Radio Canada and CD "Live at the MJF")

                    Solo Concert for the WDR TV Cologne, work with the Richie Cole

                    Quartet in Europe, many CD productions as a sideman.

                    Concerts in Venezuela.

                    Concert at Radio France with Martial Solal in Paris

 

1998-99       Club gigs and recordings in New York.

                    Member of the Ernie Watts Quartet.

                    Production of the own CD "Cuban Fantasy, Moliendo Café".

 

2000-02       Concerts al over Europe and Russia.

                    Solo Concerts in Peru and Argentinia.

                    Regular work with the Tony Lakatos Quintet and concerts in the

                    US with the Richie Cole Quartet.

                    Production of the CD "Blue Topaz" with Ernie Watts.

                    Guestsolist in the Radio Jazz Group Frankfurt with Albert Mangelsdorff,

                    Christof Lauer, Heinz Sauer, a.o.

                    Band clinics and master classes in Europe.

 

2003-04      Concerts in Japan and contract with the japanese Label

                    "Sound Hills records".

                    Production of the CD "Together Alone" in Tokyo.

                    Classical work with Branford Marsalis.

 

2005-09       Concerts in Moscow, Kiev, Baku, Istanbul, Barcelona, London,

                    Tokyo etc.

                    Recording of the Duo CD "Pa Chuly" with Ernie Watts.

                    Solo CD "Reflections on Art Tatum".

                    "Independent Music Award (USA) Best Jazz Album of the year 2007,

                    for the CD "Analog Man" - Ernie Watts Quartet.
